Well, that's not the kind of idea that can really die is it? Can we say that we're in Beta? And now retooling? Exactly. One partner is off learning that no amount of money can make a dream come true, and how to just show up everyday and do the work, and the other partner is learning that being right doesn't mean the same as being successful. Is Infinite Wisdom Dead?
Well, that's not the kind of idea that can really die is it? Can we say that we're in Beta? And now retooling? Exactly. My Roller Coaster
For those of you who know me you'll know that my life as of late has been a bit of a roller coaster. Ups and downs, all around (you can see it in my blog posts) - but hopefully, all with a better purpose in the end. Living in Vietnam, the novel The Quiet American bears an omnipresent resonance here. In my search for a picture of a roller coaster, I came upon the blog of My Cocaine, a literary critic in Arizona. His/her account of The Quiet American is here:"In a work like The Quiet American, the roller coaster is much different. Greene wants us to go down, down, down psychologically, corresponding to the up, up, up of a roller coaster like The
Superman, that rises seemingly indefinitely until it plummets back to the surface. It’s during this free fall that we realize with spine-shuddering certainty the mess we’re in as human beings, the mess Greene is trying to present to us. The regret – no, the sadness that Thomas Fowler expresses in the final paragraphs is the same sadness we sometimes realize when presented with the world in all its miserable, desolate glory. The book, in other words, does not move even slightly into the realm of optimism at the end, but remains firmly entrenched in the pessimism that humans are and always will be wretched creatures."And it's interesting, with the weeks I've had, that I do not agree with this interpretation of the human condition. I fundamentally believe that we are all essentially good and our sorry, painful and loathsome spirits are only ignited in the pursuit of that goodness. And that's how I will exit this week. With hope. With love. With dedication to improve my condition. An that of those around me. I understand the reference to Cocaine in reference to blogging. This is my drug. My addiction. My healthy obsession. Thanks for coming along for the ride. This is the only place I can go to seek total refuge from the world around me and I'm happy you all choose to share it with me - my sanctuary - my cocaine, as well - my roller coaster of life.

Fear Is My Friend...
n Couple of demons rose up this week and I must admit, they sidelined me for a couple of days. Betwix, between and totally out of sorts. Until I sorted it out. And oddly, as it may
have been, Hillary Clinton was my clincher. She played on the fear of voters by saber-rattling over Iran and that just massively irked me. But it worked for her, sorry to say.n Oh, those insecure Pennsylvanians. (Guns. church, whatever...) Wouldn't do well out-of-country. But in my case things were a bit more personal, and close to the heart. The evil-doers have yet to face the judges on what I believe were their misdeeds. But I now have a strategy. Fear is my friend. n And I'm gonna grab it like a god. I'm gonna love and kiss it and fucking choke it to death in front of it's own bleeding heart. n Because I can. Because I own it. n Took me awhile to realize, fear does not own me.n In other news, imagine a man on a bicycle, but this bicycle's got a cart mounted to it in front making it a three wheeled sort of affair. In the cart is enough gravel to fill 5 or 6 wheelbarrows - maybe 10. Since it is very heavy, there is another man on a motorbike, riding alongside. This man keeps one leg extended out and placed on the hub of the rear wheel of the bicycle man's cart. Together they will get this load of gravel down the road. They may repeat this trip 10 or 20 times in a day. This is the sort of thing one sees everyday in a country where skyscrapers are sprouting up faster than mangroves. n There is an amazing spirit of just doing things here. To catch up with a developed country there is virtually no end to the work. It goes on 24 hours a day. n
